Our Story
Born and Built in Downeast Maine
Cutler Village Redemption started with a simple observation. Cutler is a small town — the customer base alone wasn't going to be enough to build a real business. We couldn't expect people from Machias, Jonesport, or Eastport to drive all the way out to Cutler just to return their bottles. So instead of waiting for customers to come to us, we decided to bring the redemption to them.
The idea was straightforward: go to the customer. Instead of asking people to load up their cars and haul bags of bottles across town, we'd come to them. Their home, their business, wherever they were. We'd do the counting, we'd do the hauling, and we'd put the money right in their hands.
We launched in January 2010 and have been serving Downeast Maine ever since. What started as a local idea grew into a route that now covers communities from Milbridge to Eastport — because it turns out a lot of people appreciate not having to deal with the redemption center themselves.
We're a family owned and operated business. We run our routes, we confirm every pickup, and we get there when we get there. We appreciate customers who understand that and work with us — and we've built a lot of great relationships because of it.
